We are near Penne d'Agenais (that you can reach on foot in a 40-minutes walk through meadows and little tracks) a lovely medieval village highly perched on a strategic spot that was coveted by many as early as in the Roman Times in the 5th century. Later, Richard Lion Heart had a castle built there. The site is still visible near the Basilica of which the dome can be seen shining in the sun from miles around.
Penne d'Agenais consists of a delightful labyrinth of narrow lanes with Middle Age houses that are now animated by numerous craftsmen, potters, sculptors, glass-blowers, painters and many others.
All shopping facilities are available as well as some good restaurants La Maison sur la Place , L'Air du Temps , in which you will taste our region's flavoursome food because our Chefs know how to bring out all the diversity of the products that Lady Nature has given us.
