On the ground floor the beamed living/dining room has a dining table for six and a music centre for easy listening. There are two settee?s and armchairs for comfortable viewing of the TV with an extensive DVD library provided. On this level there is a modern corner kitchen which is well kitted out with utensils and equipment.
The french doors from this ground floor area lead to a terrace and a small lawned garden with charming views across the countryside. Off the terrace is a cave adjacent to the cottage which houses a gas BBQ and patio furniture for use on the terrace, a washing machine and a freezer. The terrace leads to a newly installed private swimming pool (7m x 3.5m) with it?s own fenced non-slip patio area and child-proof gatelock was built for the 2004 season. There is also private parking for three cars and an arrive anytimekey collection system via digital code access.
To the west of this hamlet just over the border in the Charente is the town of Villebois-Lavalette (8km) with its chateau and 17th century covered market. Continue North for Angouleme (29km) the capital of the Charente. South of the hamlet in the Dordogne is the small village of Verteillac (17km) with cafes and bars and further on is the market town of Riberac (28k), which has a lively market each Friday. Brantome (24k) is a short drive away and 20 minutes further on is the capital of the Dordogne Perigueux (44k).
We are easy to get to, being served by several local airports for fly drive, Bergerac airport is 80kms or about an hour away. Close too are Poitiers, Limoges and Bordeaux airports. You can make the trip from the ferries, Caen is just over 490km, an easy five hour jaunt or we are 770km from the Tunnel or the Calais ferry.
